Upcoming Event Dec 16th: Save Point Peron Rally at City of Rockingham council offices

Next Council meeting Tuesday Dec. 16th (5pm), 2014

We must reclaim our Local Government. We NEED YOU to simply rock up, be seen outside with us and then come in and sit and listen to public question time.

Please join us on Tuesday 16th December from 5pm onwards at our peaceful rally to lobby Rockingham City Councillors to reject the Cedar Woods/Landcorp proposal for a Canal Estate and Inland Marina on public land at Point Peron and to urge Councillors to support the Community’s Vision of a Coastal park on our public land instead.

We will rally outside Rockingham City Council, Civic Boulevard, Rockingham from 5:00pm until 5:45pm. During this time you can get an update on what’s happening and what you can do to help.

At 5:45pm we will then go inside and quietly listen in the public gallery during public question time while some of us ask pre planned and pre prepared pointy questions about the proposed development until 6:30pm approx.

Please bring your own placard. If you can please wear white – preferably a white T-Shirt with a Black Hand print(s) on it. No words, just the Black Hand print symbol.

We need you to help us show the developers and complicit politicians we are simply not going to stand for this development and that they have no right to foist it on us. This will send a strong message to Councillors that if they won’t fight for the community we will find people who will.

WHY ARE WE LOBBYING COUNCILLORS?

Because for the proposed Point Peron Canal Estate to go ahead a NEW Local Structure Plan to permit canal estates and artificial waterway developments in the COR has to be prepared and APPROVED by Rockingham City Council and the WAPC.

Remember, without local council and WAPC approval the developers can’t build the proposed canal estate at Point Peron – please pass on this fact to your friends and family.
